LEGO Alien Conquest was a discontinued space-themed product line released in May 2011, focusing on a human organization, the Alien Defense Unit (ADU), fighting a large-scale alien invasion on Earth. The theme was known for its B-movie aesthetic and the aliens' goal of stealing human "brainpower" to fuel their ships.
Overview
The theme featured an elite team of ADU officers battling alien invaders in Astor City (implied to be New York City). The human forces used futuristic, military-style vehicles, while the aliens utilized classic flying saucers and walking tripods. The entire theme ran for a single wave of sets and was discontinued in 2012, as a planned second wave was canceled in favor of other themes.
Factions and Characters
Alien Defense Unit (ADU): The human task force, including ADU soldiers, pilots, and specialists. Key characters included Agent Solomon Blaze, a returning character from the Galaxy Squad theme.
Alien Invaders: The antagonists, featuring different alien classes such as Alien Troopers, Alien Pilots, and the Alien Commander. The aliens often abducted civilians using a claw mechanism on their ships.
Construction Sets
A total of seven main sets were released, plus a battle pack and two polybags:
Alien Striker (7049): A small set featuring an ADU ground vehicle.
Alien Defender (7050): Included an ADU ground vehicle and a small alien flying saucer.
Tripod Invader (7051): A three-legged alien walker vehicle.
UFO Abduction (7052): A classic flying saucer that could abduct a civilian minifigure.
Alien Mothership (7065): The largest alien vehicle, featuring a spinning outer ring made with rail track elements.
Earth Defense HQ (7066): The main human base of operations, including a command center and vehicles.
Jet-Copter Encounter (7067): A large ADU helicopter set.

Collectibility
As a retired theme, all LEGO Alien Conquest sets are no longer available in standard retail stores. The sets and unique minifigures are now collector's items and can be found on online marketplaces, where prices vary based on rarity and demand. Some elements introduced in this theme, like the ray gun and microphone, later appeared in the general LEGO Minifigures theme.
